Samples & Style |
Thinking of hiring me to write for you? Before we work together it's important that you are comfortable with my writing style. Click here to read a sample white paper on incubator humidity as an example. Remember, white papers can vary tremendously in their style and layout. This is why the first step in the writing process is for us to get together via telephone, email or video call to discuss your specific needs and preferred presentation style. Of course, you can also leave the design entirely up to me if you wish. |
First impressions count and how you present your white paper can make a big difference to how well you engage your readers.
Layout, colour, use of fonts, images and even creative use of white space, all have an impact. Done well a white paper can help secure new business and reinforce the loyalty of existing customers by demonstrating innovation and thought leadership. But if you don’t create a good design no one will read it. |
Avoid unbroken walls of text
Unbroken single lines of text are far harder to read than short lines of text, interspersed with images, quotes or simple white space. Aim for 60 characters per line to make your content easy to read. |
Make use of icons and images
Icons and images have an important role to play in reinforcing information and making it easier to understand. For example, icons can be used as directional cues to help organise or highlight important points. High quality relevant images on the other hand, can be used to communicate elements of emotion or reinforce key themes. |
